As a
private, not-for-profit organization, Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc., is
locally governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. In accordance with
federal law, the CCA Board is comprised of three sectors: The Low Income
Sector, the Public Sector, and the Private Sector.
One of the original themes of the
Community Action movement, dating from the mid-1960's, is "maximum
feasible participation of the poor". To that end, representation of
low income persons is critical in policy making decisions on the
local level.
At least one-third of the Board of
Directors is made up of Low-Income persons, or persons elected by
Low-Income groups. The Low-Income Sector of the Board of
Directors of Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc., is made
up of the following members:

The CCA Board
meets the 4th Thursday of each month beginning at 5 p.m.,
excluding the months of August, November, and December.
The Board completes its work through a committee structure
that includes a Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Program/Planning
Committee, Board Development Committee, and Executive Committee. |
